Exhibition of Vladimir Mikhailov’s works to be held from 16 to 21 May in Bari, Italy

Bari is one of the wealthiest cities in the Apulia region, with a history going back to the Byzantine and Roman empires. The Basilica di San Nicola was erected during Byzantine rule and consecrated in 1197. It became the resting place of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of the city. Thanks to its rich spiritual and cultural heritage, the city welcomes thousands of tourists and pilgrims from all over the world each year. Inspired by his stay in Bari, the artist has created several landmark pieces depicting images of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. One of these pieces displays an image of the great saint, patron and protector of travellers and seafarers, appearing upon a flag-sail of a ship directed towards its heavenly goal.
